General Program Information

1. What is the SAFE Roadmap™?

The SAFE Roadmap™ is a comprehensive, 7-step program designed to empower managers and supervisors to effectively address OVA in the workplace. Built on evidence-based strategies, this program provides actionable tools, customised policies, and practical training to create safer and more resilient work environments.

At its core, the SAFE Roadmap™ focuses on:

  • Proactive risk management to prevent incidents before they occur.
  • Legal compliance with Australian safety standards.
  • Fostering a culture of safety that prioritises wellbeing and accountability.

Going beyond standard training, the program ensures sustainable improvements through hands-on skills, preventative measures, and ongoing mentorship. Each stage equips leaders with the tools to identify risks, support their teams, and embed safer practices into everyday operations.

Underpinned by the SAFE Framework™

The SAFE Roadmap™ is built on the proprietary SAFE Framework™, a research-backed model central to our Occupational Violence and Aggression Training for Employees and Workers. This structured, four-module approach helps participants:

  • Identify, de-escalate, and safeguard against workplace violence and aggression.
  • Gain individual skills to handle challenging situations confidently.
  • Develop organisational planning strategies to address risks effectively.
  • Apply actionable techniques to establish a safety-first workplace culture.

Why Choose the SAFE Roadmap™?

Whether your goal is to:

  • Reduce workplace incidents and improve safety.
  • Comply with safety regulations to meet legal obligations.
  • Empower your leadership team with advanced OVA management skills.

The SAFE Roadmap™ provides a practical, comprehensive, and sustainable solution to transform your workplace into a safer and more proactive environment.

2. Who developed the SAFE Roadmap™?

The SAFE Roadmap™ was developed by Victoria Beresford, a former NSW Police Inspector with over 25 years of experience in leadership, risk management, and dispute resolution. Holding a master’s degree in dispute resolution and human resource management, Victoria combines academic expertise with hands-on experience in conflict management and workplace safety.

What makes Victoria truly unique in this field is her extensive law enforcement background. Throughout her career, she managed and de-escalated hundreds of conflicts in homes, communities, and workplaces, gaining real-world insight into the complexities of aggression and violence. While not every situation resulted in success, these challenges shaped her deep understanding of conflict dynamics and provided invaluable lessons.

Victoria has also served as an Expert Witness for the NSW Supreme Court, offering her expertise in domestic violence cases and police regulatory compliance. Since transitioning to workplace health and safety, she has leveraged her experience to design and deliver training that directly addresses the challenges faced by organisations in high-risk environments.

As the developer and presenter of the SAFE Leaders Program Framework™, Victoria’s unique blend of law enforcement, legal expertise, and practical workplace safety knowledge equips participants with the tools they need to create safer, more resilient workplaces. Her training goes beyond theory, empowering teams with actionable strategies informed by decades of real-world experience.
